The second half of August is turning out to be very good for Rajasthan. Southeast and western districts of Rajasthan have been receiving moderate to heavy showers for the last few days. One after another low-pressure areas are traveling from the Bay of Bengal to Rajasthan.
The first heavy spell of rain over southern districts of Rajasthan was between August 22 and 25. For the last 2 days, heavy rains have been lashing many parts of Rajasthan.
During the last 24 hours, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Phalodi, Jawai Dam, Mount Abu, Ajmer, Jodhpur and Bhilwara have recorded moderate to heavy rains. The rain surplus of Rajasthan will certainly go up now.
There may be on and off rains over Western districts of Rajasthan until September 4. These rains will not be heavy. Therefore, the threat of flooding is ruled out. Rain activities are expected to commence over Eastern districts of Rajasthan by September 3rd and may continue on and off until September 5 or 6. The weather of Rajasthan will not go completely dry for at least the next 4 to 5 days.
