Skymet Meteorology Division in India has been bringing the latest weather update in terms of rain, across the country. In the last 24 hours, widespread rain was observed in Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, parts of West Bengal, east Madhya Pradesh. In North India, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, east Rajasthan and Uttarakhand also received light rain. With moist winds from the Bay of Bengal, reaching up to Central and East India, rain is likely to continue for the next 48 hours.
The Palam Observatory in Delhi recorded 6.2 mm while, Safdarjung recorded 9.4 mm of rain in the last 24 hours. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely in the national capital with strong average winds of 20 kmph gusting at 40 kmph by late afternoon.

The main cyclonic circulation that brought good amounts of rain in the last 24 hours over Central and adjoining parts of northwest and Indo-Gangetic plains will continue to bring rain with chances of hail in the next 48 hours. Good amounts of rain is likely in Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, south east Uttar Pradesh, parts of Marathwada and West Bengal.
Due to the discontinuity of winds in peninsular India, Chitradurga and Bellary in Karnataka received 10.9 mm and 8.5 mm of rain respectively. Shorts spells are expected to continue here as well for the next 2 days.
