Just a day after the devastating earthquake, which has claimed over 2000 lives till now, another quake shook the region today. An earthquake measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale, according to the U.S. Geological Survey, hit Nepal at about 12.45 PM today. The epicenter has been located 31 km south-east of Kodari, Nepal and 85 km east of Kathmandu. Mountaineers on Mount Everest again saw a new series of rockfalls and avalanches.
Strong tremors were also felt in several parts of India. Tremors reached Delhi-NCR, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Assam, and Bihar. Houses and buildings were vacated as people rushed out into the open. The New Delhi Metro service was also stopped for a few minutes during the quake. More aftershocks may follow and people are advised to exercise caution.
