At present due to absence of any weather activity over northwestern plains, sky is expected to remain clear; so temperatures are expected to remain in the similar bracket.
Due to such cold temperatures the dew on the ground will freeze. The dew that deposits and then forms a thin layer of ice is known as frost.
Frost conditions over the region will continue for next 2-3 days till temperature remains below 4°C. These cold temperatures and frosting are damaging for Rabi crop namely wheat, oats and barley.

Post January 13, minimum temperatures are expected to rise marginally leading to abatement of frost conditions over the region. But this relief is not going to last for long as a fresh western disturbance is expected to show up over the hills of north India. And along with this system the cyclonic circulation which is seen over Central Pakistan now will move east and may give rains over northwestern plains of India.
But for the time being frost will be witnessed over parts of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan.
