After experiencing hot and dry weather conditions, parts of Northwest India enjoyed some rains thereby making the weather turning from hot and humid to pleasant. On account of these showers, the scorching mercury levels also took a break and heatwave had abated from the region.
Skymet Weather reiterates that the reason for these showers was a trough that was running from Central Pakistan to the eastern parts of the country across Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh. A cyclonic circulation was also seen over the western parts of Rajasthan.
These weather systems contributed in lashing Delhi including Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad and Ghaziabad along with Punjab and Haryana with rains, while dust storm also showed up in parts of Rajasthan.
After pleasing and enjoyable weather, these rains have now bid adieu and dry weather swapped the pleasant weather. The trough has shifted over Central Delhi and at present can be seen running from West Rajasthan to Gangetic West Bengal across Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
As per Skymet Weather, the dry weather is likely to continue over Northwest India and states like Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana and parts of North Rajasthan will have to reel under dry and hot weather conditions once again.
Moreover, winds are also blowing from west-southwest that will be leading to rise in temperatures. Furthermore, these rains have left lots of moisture in the atmosphere, which has increased discomfort manifolds.
Similar weather is likely to stay in Northwest plains for the next 24 -48 hours. Day temperatures are expected to once again surpass the 40-degree mark. However, another rainy episode is anticipated around June 7 but till then, dry days is what Northwest India has to compromise with.
