At present, multiple weather systems in the country have aligned to give rains over the entire Northwest India in the coming days. A feeble Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining North Pakistan, which will give light to moderate rain and snow over Jammu-Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. A few pockets in Uttarakhand will also observe precipitation.
The induced Cyclonic Circulation over western parts of Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan will bring along scattered light rains over West and North Rajasthan. Haryana and Punjab will also witness some light to moderate rains.
These weather activities will last for the next 24 hours. Thereafter, the weather systems will move away eastward and dry weather conditions will prevail in the region.
However, another WD is expected to affect the Indian mainland after 48 hours, i.e. around March 11. During this time, we expect some good spells of rain and thundershower over Punjab, Haryana, parts of Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh as well as over northern parts of Rajasthan. Good rain and snow is expected during this time over the hills.
Thereafter this weather system will also start moving away eastwards and the rain intensity will start reducing. On March 12, scattered rain and thundershower activity will continue in parts of Punjab and Haryana. The weather in Delhi and Rajasthan will become dry, while the western parts of Uttar Pradesh will continue to receive scattered rains during the period.
By March 12, the entire weather system would have moved away but, isolated light to very light rains may continue over parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
The minimum temperatures have already increased over Delhi and NCR and parts of Northwest India. We expect these minimums to continue soaring for the next two days at least.
