May 13, 2017 2:51 PM |

Weather in PuneAfter rainy Friday evening, Pune is all set to witness another spell of rain and thundershowers today. According to Skymet Weather, weather conditions will remain favourable for pre-Monsoon rains and activities to continue over the city.

A trough is extending from North Maharashtra to Kerala, which has been increasing moisture over the city. Now, as the day maximums will peak around afternoon, this may lead to formation of convective clouds over Pune. During that time, we can expect thundershowers, thunderstorm or rain over the city.

However, weather will go dry Sunday onwards but one or two isolated spell of rain or thundershower cannot be ruled out.

Live status of Lightning and thunderstorm across IndiaWeathermen predict that these spells will be of short duration and intense in nature. True to its characteristics, these showers will be mainly expected during latter part of the day or early morning hours.

The city has recorded 2 mm of rain in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday. But the city is still far away from its monthly average rainfall of 40.6 mm.

These fresh rain and thundershowers will also be instrumental in pulling the day maximums, which have been settling well above normal for the last few days.

On Friday, Pune recorded maximums temperature at 41.1°C, which was four degrees above normal. However, now, mercury is likely to drop by 3-4 degrees and settle around normal.
