Pune to blister as maximums may reach 40 degrees

The month of March hasn’t been too good for the city of Pune as the temperatures have been settling above thirty degrees. While the residents have been observing slightly warmer days with maximums settling above the 35 degrees, the worst is yet to come.

The weekend is likely to be hot and blazing for Pune as the maximums are all set to rise significantly. At present, the maximums have been settling around 37.7 degrees which is a notch above the normal maximum of March.

Due to the absence of any weather system and clear sky conditions, maximums will increase and may even reach the 40-degree mark. As per weathermen at Skymet, Northeasterly inland winds are blowing over the central parts of the country resulting in warm weather conditions over both Mumbai as well as Pune.

Inland winds during the summer are warmer than the ones blowing from the ocean. Thus, the city of Pune will sizzle and air conditioners and air coolers will soon be used. Hot coffee will soon be replaced by cold ones and iced teas will take the place of green tea.

The next few days will remain hot and dry for several areas of Maharashtra including Marathwada and Vidarbha. In fact, the possibility of a few new records to be made in March also cannot be ruled out.
