Pune, Nashik to receive rain

Pune has remained dry for the past few weeks. The city which observes pleasant weather conditions has been hot and dry throughout the month of April. Isolated rains have occurred over the city for a couple days. Apart from that conditions have remained hot and dry.

While April remained hot for the pleasant weather city, May is expected to be slightly better. Pune is expected to observe light thundershowers during the next 4 to 5 hours. Other cities including Nagpur, Nashik, Wardha, Jalgaon and several other places in Maharashtra are also expected to witness some rainfall activity.

These rains will be attributed to the wind discontinuity which is currently running across Maharashtra and interior Karnataka. Not only this, an embedded cyclonic circulation is also marked over Marathwada. The combined effect of these weather systems will give some rainfall activity over the state.

Currently, temperatures in Maharashtra are running well above the normal levels. However, these conditions may result in a drop in temperatures. Pune is likely to receive more rain between May 11 and 13 as well.
