During the last 24 hours, the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra has recorded light rain and thundershower activities. The remaining meteorological divisions, however, remained completely dry. The weather was warm in the southern parts of Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan region.
At present, an upper air Trough is extending up to the Vidarbha region. This system will further extend from Odisha and South Madhya Maharashtra. Due to this, the different air masses would be mixing over Vidarbha, Marathwada and North Madhya Maharashtra.
Thus, light rain is likely in these three meteorological divisions during the next 24 to 36 hours. Places like Pune, Aurangabad, Nashik, Akola, Amravati, Nagpur, Yavatmal and Jalna will experience these rains. The weather in the rest parts of Maharashtra, on the other hand, will remain completely dry.
The temperatures in northern parts of Konkan will experience a slight drop in the temperatures. Meanwhile, the weather in Mumbai is expected to be dry with ‘moderate to poor’ pollution levels. The sky will be partly cloudy and night may become pleasant due to fall in temperatures.
The rainfall activities would be beneficial for crops like orange and groundnut.
