Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, Satara, Aurangabad to get more Monsoon showers

Since last many days, vigorous Southwest Monsoon conditions have been prevailing over Maharashtra. Thus, several districts such as Dahanu, Mahabaleshwar, Ratnagiri, Harnai, Mumbai, Vengurla and Thane have been recording a good amount of rainfall activities during the last 24 hours. Hence, the residents of Maharashtra have been experiencing comfortable weather conditions.

In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Mahabaleshwar 83 mm, Ratnagiri 82.5 mm, Vengurla 67.2 mm, Thane 58 mm, Harnai 41.2 mm, Solapur 38 mm, Mumbai and Yeotmal 31 mm, Alibag 30 mm, Buldhana 11 mm, Pune 8.2 mm, Nanded 7 mm, Amaravati 6 mm, Akola 5 mm, Aurangabad and Chandrapur 4 mm, Dahanu 2.5 mm, Parbhani 2.3 mm, Jalgaon 2.2 mm, Osmanabad 2 mm and Satara 1.7 mm.

These weather conditions can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is seen lying over central parts of Madhya Pradesh is now likely to move westwards. Additionally, an active offshore trough is also seen running along the West Coast. With this, the moisture incursion over the entire state is likely to increase further.

So, due to these weather systems, heavy to extremely heavy rains are expected to occur along the West Coast including Mumbai. Moreover, many parts of Vidarbha and northern parts of Marathwada may witness moderate rain and thundershowers during the next two to three days.

Also, a few areas of Madhya Maharashtra region will continue to settle with light to moderate Monsoon showers during the same period of time.

Furthermore, the intensity of these good Monsoon rains over the state is likely to remain constant and accordingly, several districts of Maharashtra such as Harnai, Dahanu, Ratnagiri, Mahabaleshwar, Malegaon, Sangli and Satara will continue to see heavy to very heavy rainfall activities.

Moreover, cities such as Pune, Gondia, Wardha, Akola, Nagpur, Nashik, Washim, Nanded, Parbhani, Jalgaon, Yeotmal, Buldhana and Aurangabad will see light to moderate Monsoon showers.

Hence, the residents of Maharashtra will be experiencing comfortable weather conditions for the next few days. Also, the most celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi will also continue amid good Monsoon rain and thundershowers.
