During the past day, parts of Vidarbha, Marathwada and South Madhya Maharashtra have received good rainfall. In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Saturday, Parbhani witnessed heavy rain to the tune of 95.2 mm. In the same span of time, Amravati witnessed 29.4 mm of moderate intensity rain, Buldhana 28 mm and Thane 21 mm.

Meanwhile, Udgir recorded 6 mm, Malegaon 4 mm, Aurangabad 5 mm, Wardha 3.4 mm and Bhira 3 mm of rain. As per Skymet Weather, the rainfall will continue in many parts of the state during the next 24 hours. Mumbai and Pune city are likely to witness moderate with one or two spells also.
These rainfall activities can be attributed to the trough which is extending from the central parts of Arabian Sea to North Madhya Maharashtra across North Konkan region. Moreover, another trough is extending from Madhya Maharashtra to South Tamil Nadu.

An embedded cyclonic circulation can also be marked over Madhya Maharashtra. Thus, cities such as Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, and Ahmednagar may see an increased thundershower and rainfall activities over the area. Moderate to heavy rain intensity may also occur in some parts. Meanwhile, scattered light to moderate rain would occur over Marathwada and Vidarbha region. The coastal regions will witness only light intensity showers. Comfortable weather conditions are likely to prevail across the region.
