During the past 24 hours, light to moderate rain and thundershowers were witnessed over few parts of Vidarbha, while during the same time frame Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan and Goa recorded isolated spells.

The sky remained partly cloudy to cloudy over many places. These rains can be attributed to multiple weather systems over and around the region. A trough is extending from Comorin region to South Konkan and Goa. Also, an anti-cyclone is seen over Chhattisgarh and adjoining parts.

Generally at this time of the year, the weather of Maharashtra remains dry. Rains make an appearance over the interior parts of the state when an active weather system, for instance a low pressure area or depression develops and travel westward from Bay of Bengal.

Similarly, Konkan and Goa receives good spells of rain when a cyclonic circulation or trough forms along the coast of Maharashtra.

As of now, weathermen could not anticipate any significant weather system over both the mentioned regions. So, rains are not in store for the entire state.
