Since the last three days, light rains are being witnessed in Pune and the Cyclone Kyarr has also gradually moved westward. Therefore, the rains over Madhya Maharashtra in the coming days will eventually reduce. However, in parts of Pune, there can be one or two short intense spells until October 26. In the past 24 hours, Pune recorded light rainfall of 3.8 mm.
On October 27, that is on Diwali light rain is a possibility in some parts. However, heavy rains are ruled out and comfortable weather will persist.
As per our experts, the day temperature will be around 30 degrees while the night temperature will be around 20 degrees. Sky will be partly cloudy to cloudy until October 27.
Moderate to heavy rains were seen between October 20-22. In fact, October is not a rainy month for Pune. In the month of October, the average rainfall figure for Pune is 77.9 mm whereas 208 mm of rain has already been witnessed which is almost three times the value of average rainfall. This has been an exceptional rainfall month for Pune. Going back to 2018, wherein the month of October recorded 360 mm of rains.
On average in the last decade, more than double the monthly average rainfall has been witnessed. The lowest rainfall in the last decade of 26 mm was recorded in 2016 and whereas 263 mm of heavy rains poured in October 2010.
