Pune and Mumbai to continue with light rains

The month of August was not too constructive in terms of rainfall for the Queen of Deccan, Pune as well as the Glittering City of India, Mumbai. Heavy rains remained away from both the regions.

Although traces of rainfall along with a few light spells continued over Pune. So much so that the city did not go completely dry. In the similar manner, light to moderate rains continued over Mumbai.

The last 24 hours were also not different. Pune recorded traces of rainfall. Whereas, both the Santa Cruz Observatory and Colaba Observatory in Mumbai recorded very light showers. This is due to the absence of any significant weather system over the region.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, light spells will continue over Pune for another 48 hours and the weather will remain comfortable. Minimum temperature will settle around 19-20 degree Celsius, while day temperatures will range round 28-29 degree Celsius.

Mumbai will also witness light rains with warm and humid afternoon and the sky will remain partly cloudy to cloudy.

Till August 16, Pune has recorded a mere of 7 mm of rains as against its monthly average of 122.3 mm and Mumbai has recorded rainfall to the tune of 131.2 mm as against its monthly average rainfall of 529.7 mm.
