Prolonged dry weather for plains of North India, minimums to drop after the weekend

Prolonged spell of dry weather is on the cards for Northwest Indian plains. Temperatures have also seen a drop wherein single digit minimums have been seen over the plains today including Karnal at 9 degrees, Hisar 8 degrees, Churu 7 degrees etc. Places like Patiala, Ludhiana, Delhi etc. are all under 10 degrees, ranging between 9.6 and 9.8 degrees Celsius.

A Western Disturbance is there over the Western Himalayas but the effect will remain confined to hilly parts. Hills will also see a break from weather activities after the passage of the system.

The Western Disturbance will result in variable wind pattern for the next two days. Temperatures that had dropped, there may be some arrest in further drop for the next two days. Around 21st, temperatures will see a drop now.

Dry weather is expected to continue over the plains of North India, and after the passage of Western Disturbance, temperatures will see a drop with minimums reaching single digit once again, resulting in some winter chill over the plains.
