Good amounts of rain have occurred in most parts of West Madhya Pradesh during the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, East Madhya Pradesh has received light rains only.
The Southwest Monsoon has remained active over the western areas, however, eastern districts have observed normal Monsoon conditions.
In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Mandla has recorded 106 mm of rainfall, followed by Guna 35.7 mm and Jabalpur 13.4 mm of rains.
At present, the axis of the Monsoon Trough is extending across the northern parts of Madhya Pradesh. An upper air Trough is extending from Gujarat up to Northwest Bat of Bengal across Central Madhya Pradesh. A Cyclonic Circulation is also over the Northwest Bay of Bengal, which will later intensify into a Low-Pressure Area during the next 24 to 36 hours. The system then later would move across the central parts of Madhya Pradesh.
Due to this movement, the northwestern parts of the state will experience heavy showers. Places like Gwalior, Shivpuri, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Guna, Sheopur, etc will be the ones to witness heavy rains. However, the eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh would receive light rains only.
These weather conditions would continue for the next three to four days. In the wake of these activities, humidity levels would increase.
As on August 3, West Madhya Pradesh is rain surplus by 16%, while East Madhya Pradesh is rain deficient by 17%.
