Cyclone Maarutha in Bay to rise temp in Andhra, Telangana

April 16, 2017 12:09 PM | Skymet Weather Team

As heatwave intensifies over Rajasthan and Gujarat, the deadly rise in temperature can also be seen over Deccan area as well. The maximum temperatures over many areas of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are likely to shoot up. This rise in mercury can be attributed to the weather system in the southwest Bay of Bengal.

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were already registering maximum temperatures of one or two degree Celsius above normal levels.

Weathermen from the Skymet Weather stated that the increase in evaporation of moisture content is predicted. This will lead to the drying of land and may result in the increase of the temperature levels in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

With this, severe heatwave conditions are likely to be witnessed over Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra Pradesh by recording the hottest temperatures in the next 24 hours.

If conditions are favorable, then the weather system in the Bay of Bengal will be the first cyclonic storm in the pre-monsoon season. This system appeared as a well-marked low pressure area as on Friday and has gradually intensified into a depression.

The chances are even high of the atmospheric conditions to form into a cyclonic storm, but it will not result in any rainfall activity over entire east coast but northeastern states of India will witness heavy rains.
