On December 12, 2016 Cyclone Vardah will hit the east coast of India along the states of South Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu as a cyclone. Vardah is expected to hit near Chennai which will most definitely freshen up the memories of the horrific Chennai floods. This storm will give heavy rains over the region and thus the need of the hour is to prepare ourselves from the storm.

Here is the list of things one must do to be safe and sound as the Cyclone Vardah approaches.
1. People should evacuate faster as soon as warning is issued.
2. Avoid Driving.
3. Do not go out just for fun.
4. Do not drink water from unknown sources as it may be contaminated. Store water for emergencies.
5. Trees should be trimmed regularly to avoid fall.
6. Do not stand under the ceiling fans or chandeliers.
7. Secure your outdoor furniture to reduce the amount of damage.
8. Turn off gas to prevent leakages.
9. Use pillows and bed-sheets to cover yourself during strong winds.
10. Store extra food that can be eaten without cooking or take very less preparations.
11. Be courageous. Your ability to withstand in such a situation may inspire others.
12. Do not panic.
