Updated on June 6, 2015 6:30 PM (IST): Pre-Monsoon showers to lash Hyderabad
Since May 20, when light rain was observed in Hyderabad the weather has been completely dry in the city. Most of the time a trough from East India was reaching up to Rayalaseema and Interior Tamil Nadu due to which the rainfall activity was mainly confined along the trough line, east of Hyderabad.
However, rainfall activity in the above mentioned region impacted the weather of Hyderabad from the beginning of June, in terms of drop in temperatures. The day temperatures which were settling between 42°C and 43°C came down to settle around 38°C. For instance, the maximum in Hyderabad settled at 36.3°C on Friday, which is one degree below the monthly normal.
Now the rainfall activity is again expected to pick up over parts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, including Hyderabad.
According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, rain and thundershower is likely in many parts of the city in next 2 to 3 days. This spell of rain will further pull down the temperatures in the city.
The normal onset date of Monsoon in Hyderabad is around June 6. But, it seems to be delayed and is likely to make onset in a week.
