Pre Monsoon showers likely over Mysuru, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Vishakhapatnam

The southern peninsula has been observing scattered pre-Monsoon rainfall activities for the past few days. It is expected that these activities would expand over South India during the next 24 hours. These pre Monsoon activities are likely to occur due to the various weather systems prevailing across the states.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Hassan recorded rain to the tune of 10 mm, followed by Kodaikanal at 6 mm and Udhagamandalam 2 mm rains.

A cyclonic circulation is prevailing in the lower levels over South Kerala Coast. A trough is extending from Madhya Pradesh to Coastal Kerala across Karnataka and Maharashtra. Along with these two weather systems, moisture is penetrating from the Bay of Bengal over most parts of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

As per weathermen, short spell of rain and thundershower activity is expected across many states of Southern Peninsula.

These weather activities are likely over few parts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, South Karnataka, West Tamil Nadu and adjoining Kerala.

Stations such as Vishakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Kurnool, Hyderabad, Khammam, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Hassan, Udhagamandalam, Coimbatore, Kodaikanal, and Kozhikode are expected to observe rain and thundershower activity. In fact, thundery development is also possible over Chennai.

In fact, few stations would also observe strong winds along with these pre-Monsoon rains. As per weathermen, thunderclouds development is most likely towards the afternoon or evening hours or during the early morning.

It is anticipated that these pre Monsoon activities are likely to continue over this region for next few days. The weather during the day would be humid and warm meanwhile mornings would be comfortable.
