After reeling under dry weather conditions from last many days, the weather of Maharashtra has become rainy once again. It seems that the 30°C mark that was prevailing over the parts of the state is going to take a break and the weather will become rainy once again.
As per Skymet Weather, light rain and thunder shower with gusty moderate wind are likely to occur at Ahmednagar, Bid, Latur, Osmanabad, Parbhani, Solapur, Nanded and Yeotmal districts of Maharashtra during the next 4 to 6 hours. In fact, Latur which is one of the dry cities is also witnessing rains.

The reason for these showers can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation that persists over South Marathwada and adjoining areas. Moreover, a trough is also seen extending from this system up to Lakshadweep Island across Karnataka and Kerala.
On account of this, the mercury level which was soaring is now expected to settle in mid-30 over Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada. Moreover, the atmospheric instability is also present.
Due to high temperatures and available moisture content, the probability of developing convective clouds also increases resulting in rain and thundershower activities over Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada. These rains are likely to continue for another 48 hours.
Thus, Maharashtra particularly Madhya Maharashtra can expect short duration intense showers that pour over limited regions.
As this is the pre-Monsoon season, therefore, development of thunderclouds and occurrence of thundershower with isolated hailstorm activities cannot be ruled out as well.
