Pre-monsoon shower picks up in South India; temperature rises in North India

The cyclonic circulation over Odisha is pushing the moist easterly winds towards central peninsular region to cause rain. Places in madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Telangana, Rayalaseema, north and south interior Karnataka and north Tamil Nadu have received good amounts of rain in the last 24 hours.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, the weather system will continue to bring rain in these parts during the next two days. Day temperatures will remain below  normal in these areas.

Meanwhile, day temperatures in northwest and Indo-Gangetic plains continued to remain significantly below normal, despite rising marginally. Agra, Lucknow, Kanpur, Allahabad, Varanasi and Patna all observed maximums settling in the mid-twenties.

According to the latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, no significant rise will be experienced in the maximums at the above mentioned places during the next two days, due to partly cloudy to cloudy skies.
