This pre-Monsoon season, India's technological hub Bengaluru(Bangalore) has been observing more heat as compared to other weather activities like rain . In fact, the average normal maximum temperature for the city in March is 33˚C but this year, the maximum has soared to touch 36˚C.

The hottest month is April with normal average maximum temperature of 34˚C. This time in April, Bengaluru was largely rain deficient as the city only managed to record 18.3 mm of rain against its normal of 41.5 mm.

Normally in May, pre-Monsoon activities pick up pace over Bengaluru, especially during the second half. During this period, the city observes 7 rainy days and 10 days of thunderstorm activity.

However, this time in the first 7 days of May, Bengaluru has observed only patchy rains. No good showers have been recorded in the city till now.

But in the wake of a trough extending across parts of South Interior Karnataka, today and tomorrow, we expect good rain and thundershower activities to occur in Bengaluru.

Thereafter, between May 12 and 15, the spread of these weather activities will increase and rain will be observed across the city.

In fact, the above normal temperatures will drop marginally and the spell of rain will help in pulling down the rain deficiency in Bengaluru to some extent.
