During the last 24 hours, many parts of Uttar Pradesh have recorded rains of light to moderate intensity. The intensity of these showers was much more over the western as well as the central districts of the state. Meanwhile, East Uttar Pradesh saw light rain, while the southern portion of Uttar Pradesh remained dry during the same time frame.

Rain activity recorded during the past 24 hours from 08:30 am on April 9, Moradabad recorded 32 mm, Aligarh 21 mm, Meerut 10 mm, Shahjahanpur 8.4 mm, Hardoi 7 mm, Bareilly 4 mm and Bahraich 2 mm.
All thanks to the trough that was extending from West Rajasthan up to Assam across Uttar Pradesh. At present, another trough is seen extending in the lower levels across Uttar Pradesh up to Bihar.

Consequently, we can expect scattered rains to continue over parts of Uttar Pradesh as well as Bihar, which had remained dry during the last 24 hours. However, the intensity and spread of rain will be more over the state of Uttar Pradesh as compared to Bihar.
Mostly, the northern half of the state would witness scattered showers, nonetheless the southern districts such as Banda, Hamirpur and Varanasi may settle with arid weather.
The state of Bihar may see a few spells of rain that would be mainly confined to the northern districts. Meanwhile, South Bihar is likely to remain dry with isolated thunderstorms. In consequence to this weather situation, the maximum temperatures will drop marginally and range below the normal level.
As per meteorologists at Skymet Weather, rain and thundershower accompanied with squally winds and moderate lightening is expected over the districts of Uttar Pradesh such as Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Ballia, Basti, Deoria, Faizabad, Ghazipur, Gorakhpur, Jaunpur, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Mau, Sant Kabir Nagar, Shravasti and Siddharth Nagar today.
Correspondingly, rain and thundershower along with squally winds and moderate lightening is likely over the areas of Bihar such as Araria, Arwal, Aurangabad, Banka, Begusarai, Bhabua, Bhagalpur, Bhojpur, Buxar, Darbhanga, East Champaran, Gaya, Gopalganj, Jamui, Jehanabad, Katihar, Khagaria, Kishanganj, Lakhisarai, Madhepura, Madhubani, Munger, Muzaffarpur, Nalanda, Nawada, Pashchim Champaran, Patna, Purnia, Rohtas, Saharsa, Samastipur, Saran, Sheikhpura, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Siwan, Supaul and Vaishali during the next 12 hours.
