Pre-Monsoon rains to lash Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu

Many parts of Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have been witnessing rains from over a week now and it is predicted that these rains are likely to continue over the states throughout the remaining days of the month.

As we are close to the arrival of Southwest Monsoon over eastern southern parts of Kerala, southwesterly winds are gradually expected to strength along the coast. The pre-Monsoon showers are expected to strengthen and Kerala will receive moderate rain at many places with isolated heavy falls.

Mainly cloudy sky will prevail. It may also become overcast sometimes. The coastal area will have mainly breezy conditions. The rain is expected to decrease in parts of southeastern parts Karnataka and is likely to increase along the coast of South Karnataka.

Bengaluru will receive light rain and it will continue for the time being over the area. Whereas, Tamil Nadu rain will be confined to the western parts of Tamil Nadu and Nilgiri hills. While over the eastern and western parts, rain will decrease significantly.

These areas will have mainly warm and humid weather. Whereas thunderstorm development is expected during late afternoon and evening hours. Even Chennai will face similar weather conditions. Temperatures will marginally drop leading to pleasant weather conditions in these areas.
