Pre monsoon rains to continue over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand

May 26, 2022 2:15 PM |

East and Northeast India recorded good Pre monsoon rains throughout the Pre Monsoon season. This is why Bihar and Jharkhand both are in the normal rain category. However, Bihar is surplus by 16% whereas Jharkhand is deficient by 5%. On the other hand, east Uttar Pradesh is in deficient rain category with a deficiency of 24%, and West Uttar Pradesh is in normal rain category with the deficiency of just 7%.

By the above analysis we can say that rainfall is not uniform until now. Pre monsoon rains are expected to continue for the next 2 to 3 days over many parts of Uttar Pradesh Bihar and Jharkhand. Weather parameters which may enhance the rainfall will be a trough which will be extending from Punjab to Northeast India across Uttar Pradesh, South Bihar and North Jharkhand. Winds from the southeast and east direction blowing from the Bay of Bengal will also continue to feed moisture over these states.

There is no chance of heat wave over eastern parts of the country for at least next one week. Rain activities may subside over these States by May 31st. The weather will become almost clear with isolated light rain activities over Northeast Bihar.
