Since the last few days, rain activity is continuing over the Northeast states. These rains are mainly isolated and were accompanied with strong gusty winds.
During the last 24 hours as well, widespread rain and thundershower activity was observed over most places of Northeast states. Moderate to heavy rain and thundershower occurred at many places of Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh associated with strong gusty winds.
At present, a Cyclonic Circulation persists over Assam. Also, south-southwesterly moist winds are blowing over most parts of the Northeast states. These rain and thundershower activity is expected to continue with the same intensity over the area for now. These activities will occur mainly towards night and early morning hours. Strong gusty winds with speeds of 50-60 kmph might also blow over some parts.
Due to the cooling induced by the winds blowing from hills over these states, we expect these activities to continue over the region for the next 2 to 3 days. Morning will remain pleasant over the region while afternoon might become humid and uneasy.
But as the rain activity picks up once again towards the evening hours, the night will become comfortable and pleasant over most places.
