The state of Kerala has been witnessing good Pre-Monsoon rains for the past few days. In fact, a few areas have also been seeing heavy showers during this period. Due to this, there has been a slight drop in temperatures as well over God’s own country.

As far as the last 24 hours are concerned, they also have been rainy enough for the state of Kerala. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Kannur recorded a good 37 mm of rains which was the highest in Kerala. Other places to have received some rains include, Kochi 28 mm, Alappuzha 9 mm, Karipur 7 mm, Thrissur 3 mm, and Kozhikode 0.4 mm.
These rains have been attributed to the presence of wind discontinuity from South Tamil Nadu to the North Interior Karnataka region. Along with this, a cyclonic circulation is also over Karnataka and adjoining areas which has been providing the much-needed rains. An anti-cyclone is also over West Central Bay of Bengal which has been feeding moisture over the region.
Thus, during the next few days, light to moderate rains are expected over the state of Kerala during this time period. In fact, some places may even see some heavy showers during this period.
