Pre Monsoon rains, thundershowers begin over hot PunePre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers have finally made their way to Pune. Rain bearing clouds engulfed Pune during the evening hours and rains followed soon.

All thanks to the formation of a trough from Bihar to South Madhya Maharashtra. This trough has been attracting humid winds from Arabian Sea over the region.

Live status of Lightning and thunderstorm across IndiaAccording to Skymet Weather, increase in humidity combined with high day temperatures led to the development of convective clouds over Pune on Friday evening. This in turn had resulted in pre-Monsoon activities such as rain, thundershowers and thunderstorm along with lighting strikes.

This fresh spell of rains has brought immense relief from the hot weather conditions. On Friday, the city had recorded day maximum at 41.1°C, which was four degrees above normal.

At present, the weather has gone extremely pleasant. However, these rainy spells will not have much impact over day maximum tomorrow as they will once again start rising with the sunrise.
