The state of Gujarat has been experiencing different kinds of weather conditions from the past few days. While a few parts of the state have been recording high maximum temperatures, Rajkot and few adjoining areas received one or two spells of rainfall in the last week. Pre-Monsoon activities mainly remained subdued over Gujarat.
Though conditions are becoming favorable for the commencement of pre-Monsoon activities in many parts of Gujarat particularly over Southern and Central districts including Rajkot, Amreli, Junagarh, and Bhavnagar. As per Skymet weather, Ahmedabad and Vadodara may also witness one or two spells of rain and thundershower during the next 48 hours.
But we expect the intensity to increase between June 8 and 10 over Ahmedabad, Vadodara and adjoining areas. As per Skymet Weather, now the southwesterly winds from the Arabian Sea will start blowing over most parts of Gujarat which will increase the humidity and would subsequently lead to the formation of clouds and eventually be bringing down rains over parts of Gujarat.

As an effect of these weather activities, temperatures are likely to fall further in the coming days. Normal date of the onset of Monsoon over the state is June 15 and we expect that the Monsoon will mainly cover the southern districts of Gujarat. Thereafter, Monsoon is most likely to arrive and cover the remaining parts of the state.
