As per Skymet weather, a cyclonic circulation is over Central Pakistan and a trough is extending up to Karachi. Even the Southwesterly winds from the Arabian Sea have started blowing over Gujarat region.
Temperatures over southern and central parts of Gujarat have decreased as on and off light rains have been observed by the southern districts of Gujarat. But these weather activities failed to make any major impact.
By June 8, scattered rain and thundershower will commence over the region. Conditions are becoming favorable for the commencement of pre-Monsoon activities over Amreli, Bhavnagar, Rajkot, Porbandar, Surat, and Valsad. These rains will continue for the next two to three days. The intensity will not be very heavy but few good spells are possible. These rains will be very beneficial for restoring soil moisture which will lead to good Kharif crop production.
Weathermen will be favorable upon Ahmedabad and Vadodara also. They may also witness one or two spells of rain and thundershower during the next 48 hours. But we expect the intensity to increase between June 8 and 10 over Ahmedabad, Vadodara and adjoining areas.

As an effect of these weather activities, temperatures are likely to fall further in the coming days. Normal date of the onset of Monsoon over the state is June 15 and we expect that the Monsoon will mainly cover the southern districts of Gujarat around the third week. Thereafter, Monsoon is most likely to arrive and cover the remaining parts of the state.
