Pre-Monsoon rains in Mumbai to continue

Showers in Mumbai

The entire month of May remained hot and dry for the entertainment city. However, the blazing summer took a break and few light rainy spells were witnessed over Mumbai in last few days. These weather conditions can be attributed to the presence of a trough that is extending from North Maharashtra Coast to Kerala. Now, this system is likely to get more marked.

Besides, southerly/southwesterly moist winds are also strengthening over the region, leading to development of clouds over the region.

According to Skymet Weather, light rain and thundershowers are expected over the City of Dreams. This will continue for the next 48 hours. Thereafter, the rain activity is anticipated to reduce. These rains are reckoned as the pre-Monsoon showers. With this, temperature is also likely to drop, resulting in pleasant weather conditions.

Now, Southwest Monsoon has made an onset over Kerala and Northeast India. Conditions are favorable for further enhancement of Monsoon over some more parts. With this, rain belt will cover parts of the West Coast too.
