Now, a cyclonic circulation can be seen over Jharkhand and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal. Also, a trough is extending from this circulation up to Arunachal Pradesh.

Therefore, together these weather systems would give good rains over many parts of West Bengal including the city of Joy, Kolkata. This is pre-Monsoon season, during which these intense thunderstorms or thundershowers are very common over and around West Bengal.

As per meteorologists at Skymet Weather, the city of Kolkata may see intermittent rains and thundershowers for the next four to five days. During the same time frame, squally winds along with isolated hailstorm activity cannot be ruled out over some parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.

Furthermore, initially the day temperatures will start plummeting and subsequently the minimum temperatures will also descend.
