Since last night, parts of Telangana including Hyderabad has been lashed with light rain. After reeling under the dry and warm weather conditions since last many days, these rains brought some respite in the ‘City of Nawabs’.
As per Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over the northern parts of Karnataka and adjoining Maharashtra extending up to 0.9 km above sea level. Moreover, an upper air trough also extends from this system to Maldives across Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep Island.
In the wake of both these weather systems, rains have occurred in parts of Telangana. In the last 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Wednesday, Adilabad recorded showers of 24 mm, Nizamabad 0.6 mm, and the state capital Hyderabad too witnessed some rainy traces.
Moreover, these scattered showers along with thundershowers and squalls are expected to keep lashing the various districts of the state for another 24-36 hours. The city of nawabs and the other parts of Telangana have remained parched until these showers showed up.
As iterated by Skymet Weather, pre-Monsoon showers this summers have arrived earlier than usual. However, due to the absence of any weather system in the near future, hot weather is also expected to prevail over the region.
Along with these short-lived rainy spells, strong gusty winds along with thundershowers are also predicted. The pre-Monsoon showers are likely to show up during late afternoon or evening hours and thus not much respite from the ongoing warm weather and mounting temperatures can be expected. By the time, these rains start topick up pace, the temperatures would have already scaled up.
