Pre Monsoon rains, dust storm in Raipur, Bhopal, Hoshangabad

Pre Monsoon rains have made a comeback over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh during the last 24 hours. In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Gwalior recorded rain to the tune of 7 mm and Chhindwara 1 mm. In the same time frame, Ambikapur and Satna recorded traces of rain.

As per Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is over Northwest Madhya Pradesh and a trough is extending from this system across the state to Southern Peninsula. Another east-west trough is extending up to Jharkhand.

As per weathermen, instability prevailed over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Moreover, the weather is hot and the moisture is incurring from the Bay of Bengal over the states. Thus, there are chances of thunderstorm, dust storm and light rain activity at scattered places over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. In fact, thundersquall may also occur at a few places.

In view of the pre Monsoon weather activities, both maximum and minimum temperatures may drop marginally over both the states. These pre Monsoon rains, thundershowers, and dust storms are likely to occur until the next 48 hours.

Thereafter, the weather is expected to clear up. Henceforth, the temperatures would once again witness an increase over both the states.

Places such as Raipur, Hoshangabad, Jagdalpur, Bhopal, Mandla, Seoni, and Malanjkhand are likely to record pre Monsoon rains, thundershowers and dust storms during the next 24 to 48 hours.

These pre Monsoon activities would occur in short spells mainly during the afternoon or late evening hours. Hence, the weather during the day is expected to be hot and humid. Meanwhile, the weather towards late evening would be pleasant.
