The city of Chennai has not seen decent Pre Monsoon rains in the past few days. However, things are all set to change and the capital city of Tamil Nadu is expected to witness some rains.
Moreover, Pre Monsoon rainfall activity may be seen starting today wherein the South Indian city may see some moderate to heavy spells. On the other hand, tomorrow, rainfall activity may reduce a bit and we can expect moderate showers.
In fact, as far as rains are concerned, this spell is expected to be a slightly long one. Rains may continue for another week with varied intensity. Most heavy rains will be seen in the next 24 hours, which will be reduced thereafter.
These rains will be attributed to the Peninsular Trough which is extending from the central parts. An embedded feeble Cyclonic Circulation is over the southern parts. Due to these features, moisture is available in abundance, which will further enhance some rains.
