Pre-monsoon rains blessing Maharashtra

Maharashtra is experiencing contrasting weather for last many days. Vidarbha has been experiencing on and off rain and thundershower activities since the beginning of Pre-monsoon season. Now also isolated to scattered rain and thundershowers are going on over parts of Vidarbha, that is why Vidarbha is surplus by 137%. Marathwada has also received occasional showers and it is surplus why 71%. Madhya Maharashtra has been receiving on and off rain and thundershower activities with a few intense spells and it is surplus by 89%.
On contrast, Konkan and Goa are deficient why 99%. We can say that Konkan and Goa remained practically dry throughout the pre-monsoon season.

At present troughs extending from South coastal Karnataka to Vidarbha across Marathwada. Due to this trough, scattered rains have occurred over Vidarbha and South Madhya Maharashtra. Isolated pockets of Kolhapur district recorded hailstorm.

We expect isolated rain activities to continue over South Madhya Maharashtra as well as parts of Vidarbha today as well thereafter, the weather is expected to go dry. Another light rain spell is possible over Vidarbha and isolated pockets of Marathwada around April 14 or 15. The weather of Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan and Goa will remain dry. Maximums are expected to increase further and many parts of Vidarbha, North Madhya Maharashtra as well as Marathwada will experience temperatures 40 degrees or more.
