A reiterated by Skymet Weather, fresh spell of pre-Monsoon rains and thundershowers started lashing Delhi-NCR now. Convective clouds had been hovering over the city since early afternoon hours, with Delhi rains beginning soon.
Weathermen predict that light to moderate rains will be drenching the city. Few areas could also witness few intense showers.
In wake of this, weather has gone extremely pleasant over the national capital. At present, day maximum that had earlier reached 33°C is now settling around 26°C.

According to weathermen, both the Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir and its induced cyclonic circulation over Northwest Rajasthan continues to persist. Both the systems have kept the east-west trough active, which is running from Punjab till eastern parts of the country across Delhi-NCR.

This has increased the moisture levels significantly, which coupled with rising mercury led to development of clouds over the city.
Delhi has been recording light to moderate showers for the last 2-3 days but it is on Wednesday that Delhiites will witness rains in afternoon hours. Till now, rains have been confined to late night or early morning hours.
Comfortable weather conditions will continue for another 24 hours, wherein in isolated light rains may appear over the city on Thursday also. But with the trough oscillating towards foothills of Himalayas, intensity of rains will reduce over the city. Thereafter, weather will clear up and mainly dry weather will prevail over the region.
During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday city had recorded 20.6 mm of rain. So far, Delhi NCR has recorded 102 mm of rain and has already surpassed its monthly average rainfall of 81.2 mm.
