The rain saga continues to bless Madhya Pradesh, particularly western parts of the state have been receiving good rains since last few days. In span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Dhar recorded heavy showers to the tune of 66 mm, followed by Ratlam at 26 mm.

At present also, weather conditions remain conducive for rains to continue. In fact, Indore and Bhopal has already started recording pre-Monsoon rains and thundershowers.

As per Skymet the reason for these pre-Monsoon activities can be attributed to a trough which is extending from West Rajasthan to Bay of Bengal across Madhya Pradesh.

Now, we expect that scattered light to moderate rains will continue over Southwest Madhya Pradesh. Places like Ratlam, Indore, Ujjain, Dhar, and Bhopal may continue to receive good rains for the next three to four days.

The normal date of onset of Monsoon over Madhya Pradesh is between June 10 and 15. We expect that Monsoon may make an onset on June 15 over southern parts of Madhya Pradesh. But rains are likely to remain subdued over eastern Madhya Pradesh for the next four to five days.

Temperatures had hiked over the state earlier this month but now most places in the state are recording temperatures below 40°C. Temperatures are not likely to increase and hence heatwave will not make a comeback.
