As per Skymet Weather, the wait for the rain has ended, as Monsoon is just on the doorsteps of Kerala.
Currently, pre-Monsoon rains have been going on over South Madhya Maharashtra and parts of Konkan and Goa. We can expect these rains to move gradually over the North and by June 1, rains will commence over Pune. With this, some respite could be expected as sky-high temperatures would drop resulting in pleasant weather conditions.

Updated May 27: Pre-Monsoon rain, thunderstorm to finally visit Pune
It has been a quite a long wait for Pune and nearby areas for pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers. In absence of any weather activity, maximum temperatures have been soaring high around 40-degree mark. These temperatures have been settling several notches above the average mean.
However, the wait is finally over, and pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers are likely to make an appearance over Pune.
According to Skymet Weather, a low pressure area has been brewing in Southeast Arabian Sea, which is likely to get more marked. Moreover, an upper air trough is prevailing over Madhya Maharashtra. In wake of these weather systems, humid winds have been reaching over parts of Maharashtra, making conditions conducive for some thunderstorms and light rains over Pune today.

As reiterated before, these showers would take place in late evening hours. As we know, heat is the triggering point for pre-Monsoon rains and thundershowers.

With the temperatures peaking in afternoon, the available moisture in the region led to development of convective clouds. As a result, sky became cloudy and thunderstorm and light rains may occur over Pune and nearby areas today.
We expect that both the weather systems are likely to prevail due to which we cannot rule out some activity tomorrow as well.
As per weathermen, as the Monsoon is nearing the Indian landmass, we expect pre-Monsoon would now increase over parts of Maharashtra including Mumbai and Pune in the coming days.
