Telangana and adjoining state of Andhra Pradesh have been recording scattered Pre Monsoon rain, thundershower and thunderstorm activity for the past may days. In fact, few districts of both these states witnessed light pre Monsoon rains in the past day also.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh recorded light rain to the tune of 11.8 mm. In the same time frame, Hyderabad in Telangana witnessed light rain to the tune of 9.6 mm, followed by Ramagundam at 6.4 mm, Hanamkonda 4 mm and Nizamabad 1.2 mm rains.
As per Skymet Weather, an upper air trough is extending from South Madhya Maharashtra to Jharkhand across Vidarbha and Telangana. Simultaneously an antic cyclonic circulation is over Northwest Bay of Bengal which is feeding moisture to the system.
Hence, the weather during the day is warm and moist over Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and it will continue to persist. In wake of the weather systems, we expect light rain at some places and moderate rains many places to continue over Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
These pre Monsoon rain and thundershower activities are expected to continue for the next 24 to 36 hours. In fact, the city of Nizams Hyderabad is also anticipated to record light rain and thundershower activity in the same time frame. Thereafter, the intensity of these weather activities is expected to reduce.
