Kalbaisakhi remained active is parts of East India during the past day. Specifically, North Odisha witnessed significant rain with squally winds in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, isolated activity occurred over Gangetic West Bengal, South Odisha and some parts of Jharkhand.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Chandbali in Odisha recorded rains to the tune of 33.6 mm, Gopalpur 22 mm, Dhenkanal 17 mm, Phulbani 14 6 mm, Keonjhargarh 14.5 mm and Puri 9.6 mm of rains. In the same time frame, Cuttack recorded 5 mm of rain, Bhubaneswar 4 mm and Balasore 2.2 mm of rains. In the same span of time, Diamond Harbour in West Bengal recorded 10.6 mm of rain and Kolkata 1 mm of rain.
At present, a cyclonic circulation is over North Bihar and a trough is extending from this system up to North Odisha across Jharkhand. In wake of these weather systems, rain and thundershower with strong surface winds would continue mainly over North Odisha, few parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and South Odisha.
As per Skymet Weather, the day temperatures will remain above normal over these regions. Moreover, due to the moisture-laden winds that are traveling from the Bay of Bengal up to Bihar, uneasy conditions would increase across East India. In fact, with moisture in the air, the foothills of northeast Bihar and adjoining parts of West Bengal may observe thundershower activities during the next 24 hours.
