During the month of March, West Bengal witnessed various shades of weather. Along with on and off pre Monsoon showers, thunderstorm and lightning activity were also observed during this time period.

In fact, few days remained completely dry over the entire state. At times, the weather during the day was very hot and at times it was comfortable and pleasant.
During the last 24 hours, the state witnessed absolutely dry weather and warm weather, with day temperatures settled in high-30s. However, the weather is now all set to change once again.

As per Skymet Weather, a trough is likely to extend from Sub Himalayan West Bengal up to South Coastal Odisha across Gangetic West Bengal. In wake of this weather system, we expect scattered rain and thundershower activities over few parts of the state. These showers would be accompanied by squally winds. Places such as Malda, Burdwan, Baharampur, and Dinajpur are most likely to see these activities.
In fact, the city of joy Kolkata also stands a chance to record light rain and thundershower activity. These weather activities are expected to commence by March 23 and the intensity and spread will be more on the same day. By March 24, the intensity of weather activities is anticipated to reduce over the state. Thereafter, the weather will become dry.
These rains are also likely to bring marginal relief from the warm weather conditions but that would be short-lived.
