Pre-Monsoon showers have once again picked up pace over several districts of Rajasthan. In fact, during the last 24 hours, many parts received light to moderate rain and thundershowers with squally winds. Isolated pockets also recorded heavy rains. One or two places like Banswara also observed dust storm and hailstorm.
In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Wednesday, Jaipur recorded a whopping of 33.6 mm of rainfall along with Bikaner that recorded 21.3 mm. Other districts that recorded rain activity included Pilani 13.1 mm, Bundi 2 mm, and Ajmer 1.3 mm. Some districts also recorded traces of rainfall.
All thanks to a cyclonic circulation that is persisting over Northwest Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan.
According to Skymet Weather, we can expect thunderstorm or thundershowers to occur today also over central and eastern parts of Rajasthan such as Ajmer, Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Sawai Madhopur and Bhilwara.

From June 2 onward, this weather system is expected to become weak. Besides this, change in wind direction is also likely from easterly moist winds to northwesterly dry winds. In wake of this, the weather will go dry and temperatures will once again start rising.
Though western parts may once gain start experiencing heatwave conditions but eastern parts will remain hot and dry.
