Hyderabad has been reeling under hot and humid weather for the last may days. Blame it all on the prolonged dry spell that has been prevailing over the city for more than a month now.
Now, this dry spell is likely to come to an end as maiden spell of pre-Monsoon rains are all set to drench the city of Nizams.
According to Skymet Weather, light rain and thundershowers are likely to drench the state capital on Wednesday. Hyderabad is already witnessing partly cloudy to cloudy sky since morning and rains are likely to follow soon. This approaching spell is likely to last for at least another 2-3 days.
These showers can be attributed to the trough that is extending from South Kerala to East Madhya Pradesh across Telangana and Interior Karnataka. The trough has been infusing lots of moisture in the atmosphere. Now, this combined with rising mercury will lead to development of convective clouds over the city, leading to rains and thundershowers.
Nearby areas as well as the neighbouring states of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha have already started recording showers of varied intensity.
In wake of these approaching rains, we can expect a marginal drop in the temperatures but weather will continue to be warm. As per the weathermen, these pre-Monsoon showers generally occur during the late afternoon or evening hours and till then day maximums have already reached their peak.
Besides this, high levels of humidity will also keep the day uncomfortable.
