Madhya Pradesh is reeling under very warm weather conditions for past many days. In fact, the maximum day temperatures of many regions are crossing the 40°C mark. Though, isolated light rain was observed during last 24 hours. However, it failed to bring down the mercury levels.

A trough is extending from Punjab to Karnataka across West Uttar Pradesh. Therefore, we expect scattered thunderstorm or thundershower activity to commence over the state soon. Particularly, the western parts of the state are likely to record weather activity from tomorrow.

On and off rain and thundershower is expected to continue until April 10. As these are pre Monsoon activities, henceforth the most probable time of their occurrence is likely to be late afternoon or evening.

These rains would occur for a short duration and would only cover small areas. In wake of these weather activities, we do not expect a significant drop in temperatures. However, there may be a short-term relief from the scorching heat. Districts most likely to be affected are Indore, Khandwa, Bhopal, Betul, Seoni, Hoshangabad, and Chinddhwara.

Meanwhile, the remaining districts are likely to observe partly cloudy sky occasionally. In fact, the remaining stations such as Gwalior and Ujjain also stand a chance of thunderstorm or light dust storm activity.
