Pre-Monsoon Kolkata rains to continue

Pre-Monsoon rains have remained good news for the city of Kolkata throughout the season. The city of joy has remained joyous enough as good showers have continued to lash the city in the longest time.

In fact, most parts of Gangetic West Bengal have been witnessing good rains in view of the cyclonic circulations persisting in proximity of the region as well as the moist winds from the Bay of Bengal enhancing moisture incursion.

The last 24 hours were not rainy for the city of Kolkata, but the city saw moderate rains to the tune of 21 mm the day before.

Currently, a cyclonic circulation can be seen over East Bihar. Along with this, a trough is extending from this system to North Odisha. Moreover, an east-west trough from Northwest Maharashtra to Assam across the West Bengal region.

Due to this system, rainfall activity is expected to continue over Kolkata and adjoining areas of West Bengal. In fact, the city of Joy Kolkata is expected to witness light to moderate rainfall in the coming days. On and off Pre-Monsoon rain saga will continue over the city due to the persistence of systems in proximity of the Gangetic West Bengal region.
