Rain across the country will be witnessed in the later part of the day, except for South India, where it is expected to rain throughout the day. Temperatures are also expected to go down as pre-Monsoon activity gains intensity in coming days.
Pre-Monsoon activity across Gangetic plains
A cyclonic circulation is seen over parts of North India including Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi-NCR. In addition to this, there’s a trough stretching across the Gangetic West Bengal region up to Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. There’s another cyclonic circulation present in this region. Moreover, one more cyclonic circulation is hovering over West Rajasthan. These weather systems will keep the belt active and cause pre-Monsoon activity in the region.
Pre-Monsoon activity in South India
In South India too, a cyclonic circulation off the coast of Tamil Nadu continues to affect the region. It is expected to keep the region active in terms of weather activity for the next few days. Currently, the circulation is seen shifting north along the coast of Tamil Nadu. Parts of Kerala, south-costal Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu will continue to receive pre-Monsoon activity.
In addition to this, wind discontinuity will further enhance pre-monsoon activity in the southern peninsula. Interior parts of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, and Madhya Maharashtra will also be affected by this system.
Pre-Monsoon activity in East and Central India
A trough is seen over Odisha and Chhattisgarh and is touching parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada. This will cause rain and thunderstorm activity in eastern and central parts of the country. Northeast India will also experience increased weather activity in the next two days. Only parts of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh will witness less activity during this period with pre-Monsoon rain gaining momentum across the country.
