The month of April began on a dry note for Uttar Pradesh and so was the conclusion of March. However, now pre-monsoon rains have been occurring over Uttar Pradesh for the last few days.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Aligarh recorded light rain to the tune of 3.6 mm, Allahabad 3.5 mm, Bareilly 1.2 mm, Fursatganj 3.2 mm, Gorakhpur 0.4 mm, Lucknow 2.6 mm, Meerut 1.4 mm, Moradabad 1 mm, Muzaffarnagar 12.4 mm, Kanpur 9.4 mm, Sultanpur 10.3 and Varanasi 2.2 mm of rains.
Currently, a cyclonic circulation is over Southwest Uttar Pradesh and another one is over East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar. A trough is also seen extending between the two weather systems
Due to these weather systems, scattered rains are going on over many parts of the state since last few days.
However, the cyclonic circulation over Southwest Uttar Pradesh is expected to fade away gradually leading to decreased rains over west and central parts of the state. Meanwhile, eastern parts may continue with scattered rains for the next 24 hours.
Thereafter weather of Uttar Pradesh will become dry. Temperatures will start rising and days will become warm and sunny over most places.
The easterly and southeasterly humid winds will be replaced by comparatively warm and dry winds from the northwest direction.
The pre-monsoon activities are likely to take a break for a few days over the state of Uttar Pradesh leading to dry and warm weather conditions.
